"55% of all car crashes in which drivers fell asleep involve people under age 26"

-National Institutes of Health's National Center on Sleep

Sleep deprivation is a growing problem among teenagers. Most teenagers are aware that they should get more sleep, yet most are still getting far below the recommended amount. This web site is designed for teens to inform them on the consequences of not getting enough sleep in various aspects of their lives and to encourage all teenagers to get the recommended number of hours of sleep. In this site you will find the consequences of sleep deprivation, a survey among teenagers on the amount of sleep they get each night and links to related sites.
While many teens try to catch up on sleep during the weekend, they should ideally get the same amount of sleep every night
